Fill in the PDF form fields template to personalize a name or one line of text on the side of the craft. The text will automatically adjust it's size to fit.
The template was designed in white to allow personalization options based on your sweetheart's interests. Paste some cut-out clip art, color, or draw onto the cover before assembling to make it unique.
Feel free to highlight the name text in the PDF and delete to remove; or instead of a name, you may write a phrase like: Special Delivery, Just For You, etc.
Re-use often by swiveling the red flag up each time and placing different items inside.

Get the free Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® PDF viewer to open and print this file properly on your computer. The free Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® app for iOS or Android is required to fill PDF forms if using a mobile device. A computer is much simpler for printing if you have the option. The template should be printed on heavy cardstock US Letter or A4 Paper sizes. See paper size comparison for more info on A4 size paper. Check printer settings in the instructions below.
Instructions

Download the personalized template PDF above. Click file to unzip. Right click on PDF to Open With > Adobe Reader.
Click and highlight the text in the form fields to personalize.

In Adobe Acrobat Reader, select File, Print (click the Pages button to print page 2-4 only) and make sure Page Scaling is set to None or Actual Size.
Select quality and paper settings to print on cardstock or heavy paper at best quality. These settings are usually accessed by the Printer button at the bottom.

Use the paper clip to score the fold lines which are the blue dashed lines as a guide.
Line up the paper clip on the fold line guide, then place the ruler next to it to keep straight. Push down and slide clip along guide lines. Repeat for each fold line.
DO NOT score the red flag tabs.

For the the back piece only, use the paper clip to score the curved tabs slowly following the curved line. (There are no fold line guides for the curve.)

Cut along the outside of each piece using scissors for the curved lines (recommended) and a craft knife for the straight lines.

Cut out the circle with the red X using a craft knife. Apply pressure on the knife while turning the paper slowly to get a rounded cut.

Apply double sided tape to the tab on the bottom of the back piece. Attach the back to the mail box bottom as shown.

Fold the tabs along each of the the scored lines and the door on the front.
Place double sided tape on each of the tabs.
Use 2-3 pieces of tape on the long tab.

Attach the cover to the bottom as shown starting with the cut out circle side.
Use care to line up to the edge properly before pressing into the tape.

Slowly attach each of the tabs along the back, keeping the edge flush, and press with your fingers.
You will need to stick your whole hand inside to reach the last tabs along the back.

Press each tab to secure the long edge flush with the bottom.

Use your hand to shape the curve along the front of the mini mailbox as shown.
If more curve is needed, roll the paper over your thumb along the top to further shape the top curve.

Fold the grey handle as shown along the fold lines.

Roll the left side of the handle over the pen as shown to make it rounded.
Place the handle aside for later.

Roll the red flag along the pen to round it also.
DO NOT fold the tabs down.

Pinch the flag tabs using your fingers as shown along the curve to insert the tabs only into the side hole of the personalized cover.

Flatten the red flag tabs inside the hole along the cover as shown. The bottom portion of the red flag should be flat and the rest left curved.
This will allow the red flag to swivel up and down.
If the flag swivels loosely, press the tabs flat again with your fingers.

Attach the handle to the top center of the door as shown using double sided tape.
The clip at the top should be pushed inside to help keep the door closed.

Done.
Place your special delivery inside the mini mailbox and raise the red flag.
